Observation. Originally found out of compliance on April 3, 2024 Licensing observed the Licensee did not following the Vancouver Coastal Health procedures for cleaning and sanitizing in the children's washroom. The Educator explained the Licensee has just completed a deep clean of the mats in in the playpen. It was observed that some of the playpen base mats are no longer meeting manufacturers instructions and there are holes in the material of the base of the frame of the playpen . The playpen mats are showing signs of wear and tear and the possible lack of effectiveness when children are trying to rest. It was also observed, the educators are stacking blankets in one spot for children who may need a blanket. Licensing is concerned that there is possible cross contamination when blankets are stored together after use.

Observation. During the visit, Licensing Officer conducted a walk through of the outdoor play space. It was observed that the equipment and materials such as the merry go round, rid'em cars, stationary cars and rid'em animals are weathered, and worn. While the equipment didn't appear to be broken the surfaces seemed soiled and were in need of a cleaning.

Observation. Licensing observed: There were limited number of toys and equipment for the capacity of children in care. The board books were ripped and there were no complete books for a child to turn the pages and see the full story. There were no kitchen toys or equipment and lack of activities that met the children's age and development.
