Observation. Licensing observed the following: The children's cots were stacked. The bedding from the one cot were touching the other. Licensing is concerned there is a risk of cross-contamination. It was explained that the Licensee has just completed a deep clean of the mats in in the playpen. The mats are showing signs of their wear and tear and the possible lack of effectiveness when children are trying to rest.

Observation. Originally found out of compliance on April 3, 2024. Licensing observed when reviewing children's records that the majority of the children in care are almost 2 years of age or over 2 years of age. As discussed with the educators that both the inside space and the outside space has limited to no toys that are appropriate for the age and development of the children in care. Example: For dramatic and open ended play, The barn is set up with barn animals, the garage with cars that are proportional to the size of the garage, the kitchen centre has pots, pans, utensils etc.. The use of rugs or trays to learn about and provide boundaries where the children can use the toys. Licensing also observed the books on the bookshelf were not age appropriate as well as had ripped pages or they are ripped apart.

Observation. Licensing observed a child sitting in a stroller inside the centre. Staff had indicated it have been for 10 min and he liked being in the stroller. It was explained to the staff, unless the child was going somewhere, the child needed to come out of the stroller as this is considered a restraint due to the child is not able to move freely without the assistance from an adult. Other forms of restraints in Infant toddler care are high chairs , and toys which position and support children in a standing position, when developmentally they are not ready on their own and staff holding on to a child too long, who do not need comforting, and not providing the child the opportunities to interact and explore.
