    Observation. Licensing observed cupboards partially open due to items preventing the door from closing. The humidifier with the cord attached, which is being used in one of the rooms, is to be secured in order for it to be difficult for children to access. The administration area in the front area of the child care facility still remains accessible to children. This is considered a hazardous area as there are items available, which could cause an injury to a child. The current solution of placing a chair to block the space is not a solution, since during the follow-up visit the chair was not in position to block the area and children had access to the space.

    Observation. As noted on the Routine Inspection dated March 10, 2022: Licensing observed a cupboard in one of the rooms, which requires restrictors preventing children from accessing the space. Cupboards which are above 4 feet, require restrictors to avoid items from falling out and possible injury. The staff indicated a humidifier is being used in one of the rooms, it was recommended by Licensing to have it secured in a position that is accessible to staff, and the humidifier and cords are out of the reach of children. Licensing observed the area where administrative business is conducted within the child care space remains a hazard as children can still access the space.

Licensing explained the importance of having the room set up with activities, which encourages the children to engage in the activities. LO observed the following: - Change pad in washroom appeared soiled - Step stools in washroom appeared soiled - Windows on outdoor playground appeared soiled with various streaks and fingerprint marks - Chairs and tables in classrooms appeared soiled - Stained and soiled flooring in classrooms - Garbage can lids in classroom appeared soiled LO observed the above issues remain in non-compliance following routine inspections conducted on July 16, 2020, December 30, 2020 and January 13, 2021. This is a reoccurring issue of non-compliance.

Staff had facilitated a short music and movement time with children, afterwards children were observed climbing furniture and playing with cushion sofas and roaming the room. Staff stated that toys on shelf had been put away and closed off as it is close to pick up time and they need to be cleaned.
