    Observation. In the outdoor play space, LO observed a deteriorated wooden stump located at the edge of the wood chip area adjacent to the climbing structure is no longer in good repair.

    Observation. LO observed a care plan for a child with a life threatening allergy was last reviewed September 2022.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. In the classroom space, LO observed that the facility walls appear to be in poor repair and no longer easy to clean. There are several areas where the walls are dented, paint is chipped and the drywall is exposed. Manager advised that they are exploring a vinyl wall covering for the facility in order to protect the walls.

    When care is provided to any child younger than 36 months of age a separate sleeping area located away from any activity area is provided. [CCLR Sec. 15(3)]

    Observation. In the separate sleeping area which contains the play pens, LO observed that the space is being used as a storage space for facility equipment, materials and art projects

    Play materials and/or equipment are not safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)(b)]

    Observation. In the outdoor space, LO observed 2 child sized wooden spools used for play that appear to be in poor repair. The wooden spools are unsecured, unsteady and falling apart. The screws and hardware holding the wooden spools together are coming apart which poses a potential hazard if a child were to sit on one.

    Ground Surfacing: A 1.8 meter (six feet) safety zone is provided around playground equipment. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

    Observation. In the outdoor play space, LO observed that the placement of the unfixed slide does meet the safety zone requirements
