  Observation. Licensing observed the information regarding a child's medication that has been provided to the staff is not clear for administration.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: -a large folding table leaning up against other furniture and not secured. Licensing is concerned there is a risk of injury to a child if the table was to fall. - the fridge and freezer required a thermometer to ensure the appliance maintains the correct temperature to avoid food spoiling and possibility of illness.

  Observation. Licensing observed hazardous substances that were accessible to children.

  There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the program has initiated an emergency plan, but the food in the plan has expired.

  Observation. Licensing observed when reviewing children files they were children's files who were missing emergency contacts.

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that an emergency drill had not been practiced at least once in the past year.

  Observation. LO did not observe evidence that a fire drill was conducted for the month of February.

  A record for each child containing the date of enrolment in the facility is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(b)]; A record for each child containing the name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(a)]

  Observation. While most children's files are complete, there are a few files that are missing information.

  All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

  Observation. The Manager contacted the Licensee contact who stated that they have applied for the new staff persons CRC, but has not received it.

  Prior to employing staff the manager has met with each person and has obtained the appropriate documentation. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)]

  Observation. There is a new staff working part time at this program. Their file is being completed at head office, and no record is on file at facility.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed 2 tables with broken legs that have been repaired with tape and padding, plastic drawer tower that has broken handles, paint on doors / cubby area that is chipped and exposing areas that cannot be disinfected. There was also areas that have turned into storage and could use some reducing of items.

  Copies of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of the person's training and skills have not been obtained. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)(d)]

  Observation. Licensing recommend that the facility use the Staff Checklist to ensure files are complete and documentation is current (not expired).
