    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed 5 dog faeces accessible to children in the outdoor play area. Manager stated outdoor play area is typically cleaned everyday by a family member but today it was not cleaned. Manager stated that children did not use this space today as they went to a neighbouring park. This is a repeat contravention from routine inspection #KTOR-BM5W2W dated February 25, 2020

    Observation. In the bathroom Licensing observed visible yellow stains in the toilet bowl and under the toilet seat.

    Corrective action. Ensure bathroom is clean.

    A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

    Observation. The hot water in the bathroom measured at 54.3 degrees. This is a repeat contravention from previous inspections dated 5 Feb 2019 #KFIH-B94PP3 and 25 Feb 2020 #KTOR-BM5W2W. Licensee lowered the water temperature during inspection; Licensing checked the water temperature again and it measured at 54.3 degrees.

    Corrective action. Please ensure hot water is no more than 49 degrees.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licesning observed a phone charger plugged into a single-prong extension cord on the couch where a child was sitting.

    Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health and safety of a child.Licensee removed the phone charger and the single-prong extension cord during inspection.

    Observation. During a review of the fire drill records, it was observed that for the month of February fire drill was not practiced.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - A knife was located on the kitchen counter within reach of children - Cleaning supplies stored under the kitchen sink, not latched/locked - Detergent and windshield washer fluid stored on the floor in an unlocked closet accessible to children in care - Two sets of outlets did not contain outlet covers - Dog feces on the outdoor deck in the backyard: Licensee educated the children do not use the deck until the Spring, however, licensing observed children opening the back door to allow the dog outside, and then inside again. Because of this, feces may be tracked indoors.

    Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided to children at all times
