  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. 10 children files were reviewed and one child's care plan had not been reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested by the parent.

  Corrective action. Manager said the care plan will be updated and a copy will be kept in the child’s file.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed four staff records and one staff did not have a criminal record check. Manager stated that an application has been submitted for the criminal record check and that she is also aware that criminal record check has been completed through another agency for this staff. Manager informed licensing that this staff will not be left alone with children till criminal record check results are received. Licensing reviewed the CRC application.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that all employees have a valid criminal record check upon employment.
