    Play materials and/or equipment are not safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)(b)]

    Observation. The outdoor play area on the elevated deck will have the same requirements as a rooftop deck; -Higher equipment is located at the centre of the deck. -Surfaces are non slip. -Secure perimeter fencing is provided to a minimum of 8 feet from last foothold. - Fencing has a top overhang to prevent climbing. - Resilient surfacing is used in all potential fall zones per requirements. - No objects on railings above that can fall into the outdoor play area. - Daily safety checks made and logged. The climber is currently placed against the deck railing and there is a hazardous area above the slide where a child can get on the padded crossbar and grab the top of the fence which gives them the opportunity to climb on top and fall over the deck. The children should not be high enough where they can fall against the plexiglass panels. The deck is not suitable for climbing structures as it is too narrow to move elevated equipment to the middle of the deck.
