• A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as School Age Care on School Grounds, must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

  Observation. Licensing observed that water accessible to children was 55 degrees Celsius. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of persons in care and must be corrected immediately. Licensee stated that they will supervise the children while using the bathroom until a water regulator can be purchased and installed. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan has been implemented and completed.

  Corrective action. Ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49 degrees Celsius.

  Observation. Licensing audited 10 children's files and found that one was missing immunization status.

  Corrective action. Ensure to keep for each child a record showing immunization status.

  Observation. Licensing observed that snow fencing used to separate children from an area of the yard that is not for children's use was falling down in the centre and presents a risk. The area that is inaccessible to children contains a trampoline and hot tub.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the entire outdoor play area is enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children and will ensure children are free from harm.
