    Observation. Licensing observed the following: *The bookshelf have sharp corners at the height of the children with an incident that had been recorded on the minor incident log regarding a child injuring themselves on the corners of the bookshelf. *Garbage were tossed around the garbage bin outdoors.

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. Licensing observed the following for the outdoor play space: *One of the wooden fence panels had broken off, creating a gap that could lead to the outside of the yard. *A metal pole at child height was observed to be exposed, posing a safety hazard to children.

    Daily inspections of the play space for garbage, broken glass, animal feces and other hazardous items have not been done.

    Observation. Licensing was unable to observe the daily outdoor safety check. The Licensee also informed Licensing that the outdoor check is usually recorded on the attendance sheet; however, Licensing was unable to observed the attendance sheet during today’s visit.

    There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

    Observation. This item has been noted in a previous report, and VCH resources were provided to the Licensee. Licensing observed only one valid, unexpired water bottle available in the emergency supplies, and no emergency blankets were observed. Licensing had a conversation with the Licensee and suggested storing the emergency supply in a location that is easily accessible in case of an emergency, rather than storing the emergency supplies inside a closet behind an armchair.

    Observation. Licensing observed all children's record and found three children's records are incomplete.

    Observation. The Licensee informed Licensing they have not conducted any emergency drill. The last fire drill was recorded in October 2025, no records for November and December.

    Observation. There was diaper cream with medicinal content without signed parent permission, nor was the application of cream recorded.

    Observation. There is a large cabinet in the kitchen, seating area that is over 4 feet high and not fixed to the wall. There were blind cords hanging down within children's reach in the nap room. There are rooms that child should not have access to yet the doors were easily opened. There are some sharp edges / corners that are unprotected, fireplace area.
