  Observation. Licensing observed that an anaphylaxis medication had expired.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: *The JK1 washroom's changing mat had a rip at the corner, exposing the foam. This poses a risk of cross-contamination, as it will be difficult to disinfect. "A staff member was using a singular set of gloves to clean and apply cream to the child during the diaper-changing process. This poses a risk of cross-contamination, as the same gloves were used for both cleaning and applying cream.

  The licensee has written parental consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness, in cases where the parent cannot immediately be reached. [CCLR Sec. 57(3)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing reviewed a sample of 17 children's emergency consent forms and observed that one child was missing parental consent to contact a medical practitioner.

  A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

  Observation. Licensing observed blind cords hanging accessible to children's reach in the nap room, this poses a risk for entanglement. Licensing observed a foam couch to be ripped, this makes it difficult to clean and sanitize. This was removed during the inspection Licensing recommends using a bleach solution to sanitize tables during the day as the current sanitizer calls for a 10 minute surface touch time.

  The licensee has written, parental consent to release a child to someone other than the parent. [CCLR Sec. 57(3)(b)]

  Observation. Licensing observed some children's files to be missing an emergency contact other than the parents.

  Maintenance of Equipment: A log is kept of all inspections, maintenance and repairs. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

  Observation. LO was informed that daily inspection of the outdoor play space is performed ,however written records were not available/maintained.
