Observation. There is an area in one of the washrooms that is used for storage and is accessible to children. It contains a shelf used for storage of various items that is not sturdy. This poses a risk of it tipping over and/or items falling off it which may cause injury. This area must be cleaned up and secured to ensure no risk of hazard or injury to children. Hot water in one area of the facility exceeded 49 degrees Celsius.

Observation. Multiple employees do not have evidence of reference checks on file. The manager must have a file with all the documents required in Section 19 of the CCLR available for review. All ECE and ECE Assistant certificates require validation through the BC ECE Registry website. Employees must practice implementing the emergency plan at least once per year. Verbally reviewing the emergency plan does not suffice.

Observation. Two employees do not have valid criminal record checks (CRC) completed through the Criminal Records Review Program. The licensee's children (over 12) and husband live on the premises upstairs and do not have criminal record checks in place.
