• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. A sampling of child records was reviewed during inspection. Of those records reviewed, one did not contain a care plan for a child that requires one. Care plans are important to ensure the health, safety and well being of children who require extra support. A log of daily outdoor play space inspections was not being kept. This is required to demonstrate that these inspections are being done consistently by facility staff.

  Observation. The water in the bathroom sinks exceeded 49 degrees Celsius. Water must not exceed this temperature to prevent injury to children.

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. The licensee has not obtained the records required for volunteers: criminal record check, character references, immunization status. These documents must be obtained by the licensee prior to anyone volunteering in the program, to ensure the health and safety of children.

  Observation. Care plans not created for children with food allergies, one of whom requires an epi-pen. One child record missing name and contact of medical practitioner.

  Observation. ECE and assistant certificates must be verified using the ECE Registry system as per Section 19(4)(a) Employees have not practiced the emergency plan in the last year.

  Observation. Staff certificates are not verified by the director of the early childhood registry.

  Observation. The manager's name was not displayed in a prominent place in the facility

  Observation. It was observed the Criminal Record Clearance for the manager and a staff person has expired. It was observed one staff file is missing a character reference. Staff are missing evidence of compliance with Provincial immunization control programs.
