- POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Upon inspection, there were months when the fire drill was not written down. The Manager said it was practiced.
Corrective action. Please ensure there is a current record respecting compliance with section 22(2)(b) and (c).

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Licensing Officer observed the following: - A rose bush with large thorns accessible to children; Licensee placed a barrier around the rose bush to correct this during the inspection. - The cord from a baby monitor is unsecured and accessible to children in the children's nap space. - Diaper cream is stored in an unlatched cupboard under the sink in the bathroom, accessible to children.
Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Licensee has a family member who volunteers in the program. During the inspection, this family member arrived to help care for children. Licensing Officer observed that this volunteer's criminal record check expired on July 8, 2021.
Corrective action. Ensure to obtain a CRC for any person who is working or volunteering in the facility.
