  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Nap mats had rips and tears, preventing proper cleaning and sanitizing.

  Observation. Licensing observed nap beds with bedding that were stored touching.

  Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one or more employees.

  Corrective action. Manager said imunization status will be obtained.

  Corrective action. Manager said certificate will be verified.

  Observation. Criminal Record Check has not obtained through the review program, an RCMP clearance was available on site.

  Observation. Upon inspection, licensing noted food in the emergency bin was expired, and there were insufficient supplies to respond to and recover from an emergency.

  Corrective action. Ensure the emergency plan and supplies are current and available to mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing reviewed 6 children’s records and noted 1 was missing date of enrolment. The Manager recorded date of enrolment while licensing was on site.

  Corrective action. Ensure children's records contain all required information, including date of enrolment.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 7 attendance records and noted 9 departure times were not recorded.

  Corrective action. Ensure a record is kept for each child indicating whether the child is absent, or if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 1 care plan, the Manager said the care plan had not been reviewed within the past year.

  Corrective action. Ensure care plans are reviewed at least once each year with a parent, and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 2 staff files and noted 1 file contained an expired criminal record check.

  Corrective action. Ensure that evidence of employee documentation is kept in a single place at the facility.
