A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. The following was observed: -The fridge used for children's food was measured at 8.9 degrees. (Corrected during inspection) -The back yard fence was wobbly and had a few panels in disrepair. -A climbing structure for the children was placed in an area without sufficient resilient surfacing or a 6 foot radius.

Corrective action. The Manager removed large items from the fridge and turned the temperature down. The Manager said she will move the climbing structure to an open area with resilient surfacing. The Manager will ensure the fence is stable and in good repair.

A licensee must keep a record referred to in section 57 [records for each child] for at least 2 years from the date the child who is the subject of the record is discharged from the community care facility.

Observation. Children no longer in attendance had no record kept at the facility

Corrective action. The Manager said she will keep the files of children no longer in care moving forward

Corrective action. The manager said the temperature will be adjusted and maintained between 0-4 degrees celsius.
