A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care, Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Two portable potties were observed for use outside for children who are potty training. Once they are used, they are brought inside to rinse and/or put the contents in the garbage.
Corrective action. The Manager removed the potties from outside and confirmed the washroom would be used for all toiletting, following proper cleaning, sanitizing, and hand washing.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Water temperature measured 57.2 degrees celsius.
Corrective action. Licensee said they will adjust water prior to children's use, while looking into corrective options to ensure temperature is no more than 49 degrees celsius.

A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.
Observation. First aid was observed to be expired.
Corrective action. Licensee said they will look for courses today obtain their first aid as soon as possible.
