A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation. Upon review of 5 children files, start dates were not recorded
Corrective action. The manager said start dates will be recorded on each child's registration moving forward
19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Upon observation 3 staff files, 1 staff file did not have a site specific CRC.
Corrective action. The manager said a site specific CRC will be applied for this week

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (d) copies of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of the person's training and skills.
Observation. Evidence of a staff's training including RA certificate or relevant workshops were not obtained.
Corrective action. The manager said the certificate may have been misplaces and a copy will be obtained and kept on file.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Two couches were worn, taped, and ripped and in need of repair.
Corrective action. Manager said a temporary plan will be in place until a permanent solution is decided.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. There was no record of an emergency drill for 2024 - Manager said it was practiced, but not recorded.
Corrective action. Manager said emergency drill will be recorded moving forward.
13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Medical practitioner information was not obtained for one or more children.
Corrective action. Manger said information will be documented.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation. References were not available for multiple staff.
Corrective action. Manager said references are in the process of being obtained.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation. Licensing observed the facility has not changed their licence to reflect the new name which was changed in August 2023 - the name of the current manager was not displayed
Corrective action. Licensee must ensure that the current licence that reflects the new name is displayed - the correct name of manager should be displayed in the classroom

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Licensing reviewed the emergency supplies, there was not enough food for everyone and the food was expired.
Corrective action. Licensee must ensure that the emergency kits are equipped with food, water, and other supplies that are not expired and will last each person 72 hours in an emergency.
