Observation. - The staff files are missing evidence that the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certificates are valid. In order to ensure that the educator certificates are valid, the Licensee must verify the certificates, including subsequent certificate renewals, issued by the ECE Registry in BC. *This contravention is also noted on the last routine inspection report.* *Correct by: December 12, 2025.*

Observation. - The children's registration and emergency information records are missing some information such as a care card number, doctor/clinic contact information, and the contact information for an emergency contact other than the parents. To ensure that the staff have immediate access to the children's personal information in the event of an emergency situation and/or evacuation, this information must be complete and up to date. *This contravention is also noted on the last routine inspection report.* *Correct by: December 12, 2025.* Other records such as the daily attendance, minor incident log, and the play space inspection log are up to date and appear satisfactory.

Observation. - The white storage shelving unit in the washroom required anchoring to prevent tipping.

Observation. - The criminal record check for a staff person had expired and required renewal from the Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP) in Victoria. - A staff file was missing documentation regarding their immunization status.

Observation. Observations: Log of minor injuries/incidents unexpected events updated regularly, play space inspections recorded appropriately, children's arrival and departure times consistently recorded, children's files were reviewed and are complete. Contravention: A review of the incident log indicated that an injury occurred that met the definition of a reportable incident. The incident was appropriately mitigated, however not reported to Licensing. - Prior to the completion of this report, the Manager has submitted the report via the portal. This item is considered as corrected.
- C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical
Observation. Observations: Facility appears to be safe and free from hazards - hot water measured tank is set to 110 F and fridge temperature thermometer showed temperature to be below 4° C for safe storage of foods.. Contravention: The solution the facility uses for sanitizing the tables was orange oil and vinegar - Only sanitizer's with a DIN number are approved for use in Licensed Child Care. The Manager corrected this at time of inspection by changing the solution and mixing an appropriate amount of bleach and water in the spray bottle.

Observation. - A written repayment agreement is needed which details what would happen to the prepaid fees from parents if the facility had to unexpectedly close. This written document must be provided to parents. Licensing reviewed and discussed policies and procedures including the safety protocols in place for Covid-19 with the manager. Fire drills were logged and practiced as required.

Observation. - Some staff files showed criminal records checks that have expired and require renewal.

Observation. - Ensure that children's records containing emergency information include the child's sex as it is a distinguishing feature. *To be resolved by July July 22/21. - A system to log play space inspections, maintenance, repairs, etc. was needed. *To be resolved by Aug 9/21. Other record keeping practices were reviewed by licensing (i.e. attendance records, minor incident log, etc.) and they appeared satisfactory.
