A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): - Children could access bleach, plastic bags and bathroom cleaner under the sink - licensee described a process of sanitization of dishes that involves only soap and water therefore dishes are not adequately sanitized
Corrective action. Provide a corrective action plan

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Walls in the playroom are chipped and require repair. This is a repeat contravention. Licensee stated she will apply a wall treatment to address the issue

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The follow was observed: - A large pillow was present in a crib used for babies - Cords for a noise machine were hanging down from the electrical outlet located beside the crib and could pose a strangulation hazard. - In the play room, a cord was hanging down low enough to present a strangulation hazard or allow a child to pull the small electrical appliance down on to themselves from the window sill.
Corrective action. Pillow was removed during inspection. All cords for electrical appliances should be stored so that they are not accessible to children.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. The walls in the play area and nap room had chips where the drywall is exposed at child level
Corrective action. Ensure the walls are repaired
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation. An outdoor climber was installed in a fenced off area of the play yard. The structure is not meant for commercial use, has ladder that leads to a platform that does not have sufficient safety barriers/guardrails to prevent a fall. This structure does not have a 6 foot radius around the structure to prevent injury.
Corrective action. Discontinue use of this structure until it can be brought up to safety standards.

Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
