    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. The fencing in the outside play area is eroding. The south facing fence poles have eroded and could easily be pushed over. The wooden fence slats in almost all panels have eroded and now have spaces developing between slats. Slats could easily be removed or pushed through on several panels. The gate at the front of the yard leading to the road no longer closes or latches Standing water in pools and buckets were present.

    Corrective action. Corrective action plan to repair or replace fencing and locks in the back yard and front gate. Ensure all pools and buckets are emptied.

    Observation. Written documentation of the fire drill was available for all months except for June for the past year. The manager stated that the drill was not practiced during this month but the emergency evacuation plan was practiced once over the year but was not recorded.

    Corrective action. A system in place to practice and record all fire and evacuation drills are required.
