  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. In the bathroom, children’s hand towels are hung on the wall touching each other, and some are hung on the wall near the toilet. These towels are not changed after each use. Several tires in the outdoor play area contained pooled water and debris inside the rims, which is within children’s reach.

    Corrective action. Manager will submit a plan to the Licensing Officer stating how this will be addressed.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Walls in the play area and kitchen showed signs of wear and tear, with chipped paint in several areas at children’s height. The edging on one section of carpet in the play area was loose and detached from the carpet.

    Corrective action. Manager will submit a plan to the Licensing Officer stating how this will be addressed.

    Corrective action. Manager corrected this during inspection.

    Observation. Fire extinguisher was due for annual servicing in March 2026

    Corrective action. Manager will ask the licensee to have the fire extinguisher serviced, and a photo of the service tag will be emailed to Licensing.

    Observation. One staff file did not have verified character references.

    Corrective action. Manager will contact licensee to provide missing documents for this staff file.

    Observation. One staff's ECEA certificate was not validated by the ECE Registry.

    Corrective action. Manager will validate the staff's ECEA certificate and print out the results to be kept in the staff's file.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: -Diaper creams were stored on the diapering shelf which is within children’s reach. -An open container of child yogurt was stored in the refrigerator. - One staff was wearing disposable gloves while supporting children during eating, cleaning, and play routines. Gloves were used while touching various surfaces and interacting with children, which may pose a risk of cross-contamination.Manager asked staff to remove gloves. -White shelf in the one of the playrooms is unsecured to the wall and poses as a fall risk on children. Manager said this shelf will be replaced.

    Corrective action. Manager said yogurt will be discarded,diaper creams will stored out of children's reach & staff will not wear disposable gloves while interacting with children during play.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. During inspection Licensing observed: - Dust, hair, and debris build-up was observed throughout the facility, including floor corners, the nap room (between floor and foam mats), and on top of toy shelves in the indoor play area. -In the kitchen area, floor molding was broken in some spots and lower walls had chipped paint, exposing underlying materials which can make sanitization difficult. -At the entryway, the bottom wall edging was in disrepair, exposing drywall with sharp edges. -Peeling duct tape was observed on the wall edges beside the children’s gate in the indoor play area.

    Corrective action. Manager said Licenisng will be provided a plan to address the above observations.

    Observation. An Early Childhood Educator is scheduled to close the program. As per Schedule E of the CCLR, an Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) needs to work in ratio at all times, so an ITE needs to open and close.

    Corrective action. Please provide a plan how this will be addressed.
