• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. The Licensing Officer observed a piece of wood containing sharp nails, stored in a bathroom cabinet which was accessible to children. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided to children at all times. This was corrected during inspection.

• C1.1 - Does the licensee continually inform licensing of any significant changes to the structure or operation of the facility?Critical

  Observation. C1.1A - Reg. 10(1) - There was a lack of notification to licensing for the installation of a storage shed in the larger outdoor play space which is utilized by the Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age), Preschool (30 Months to School Age), and Group Child Care (School Age) children. Ensure a revised site plan including the shed intended use and measurements is submitted to ensure there is at least 6m2 of play area for each child.

• C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?Critical

  Observation. C10.2C - Reg. 34 - Upon review of staff scheduled today one of the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) programs was not meeting staffing ratios from 7:50-8:30 am. Section 34 (4) of the Child Care Licensing Regulation only permits a lesser qualified staff during the half hour before a care program begins and a half hour after a care program ends. Licensing requires a staff schedule be submitted for the week of November 6th that displays each program at the facility, staff names and qualifications. Additionally include the system you have implemented to ensure all staff scheduled are appropriately qualified to meet Schedule E and section 34 of the Child Care Licensing Regulation.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. C4.1E - Reg. 57 - A child record was observed today missing clear instruction in writing from the parent regarding a potential medical event. Provide to Licensing the system you have implemented to ensure child records are complete and special instruction from the parent is thorough and agreed upon by the Licensee.
