    Observation. - A log documenting minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events is not maintained at the facility. It is important to keep a current log of such events to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain up-to-date records. Submit a response with evidence of compliance by May 06, 2026. - Two child files are missing their enrollment date. Recording children's enrollment date is essential to establish an accurate record of when care commenced, supporting regulatory compliance and accountability. Submit a response with evidence of compliance by May 06, 2026. - Two child files are missing the photos of children. It is important to maintain current photographs of children to support accurate identification and effective communication with emergency personnel in case of emergency situations. Submit a response with evidence of compliance by May 06, 2026.

    Observation. - There is no record indicating that the emergency plan is implemented and practiced at least once each year. Keeping record of practiced emergency evacuation drills is important to evaluate the effectiveness of procedures, identify gaps, helps maintain accountability and preparedness for real emergencies.     Observation. At the time of inspection, the Licensee had nine children in care. The Licensee indicated that they have two extra children due to families needing care during spring break. This is in contravention to the allowed maximum group size of seven children for a licensed Family Child Care facility. Submit a plan to confirm how have you come into immediate compliance with Child Care Licensing Regulation.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

    Observation. - The Licensee indicated that daily outdoor play space checks are performed, however, a log is not kept. Establish a system to keep a log of daily outdoor play space inspections, maintenance and repairs. - Upon reviewing child records, one child's record was found missing. Establish a system to ensure each child's personal record is kept current and complete.

  • C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

    Observation. The following was unresolved from the previous Routine Inspection: "C2.1B - The licensee has planned out emergency evacuation procedures and alternate relocation sites however the plan is not drafted in a written policy identifying how you will prepare, mitigate, respond, and recover from any emergency. Parents have verbally made aware of alternate evacuations locations but not a full detailed policy". - During today's inspection, this contravention was discussed and the Licensee indicated that children are aware of alternative evacuation sites, however, there is no written plan in place. The Licensing Officer provided the Licensee with a resource to help draft a written plan and submit to Licensing.
