Observation. All of the staff certificates were missing evidence that the Licensee had verified the certificates using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry. A plan for ensuring all staff certificates will be verified must be received by the follow up date noted.

Observation. The Licensing Officer reviewed staff records and found the following: Three staff members were missing evidence that character references had been obtained. One staff member does not have a criminal record check. All documents noted in Section 19 must be obtained prior to a person working in the program. A plan for having all the required documentation in staff records must be received by the follow up date noted.

Observation. The Licensing Officer reviewed the children's records and found the following: Two records were missing the telephone number for a medical practitioner. One record was missing their medical insurance plan number. All children's records were missing a space for any person who is not permitted access to the child. A plan for ensuring all of the legislative requirements are in a child's record is required by the follow up date noted.

Observation. It was observed that the manager's name is not posted in a prominent place.

Observation. The manager was unable to show any kind of emergency kit or supplies in the event of an emergency.

Observation. It was observed that staff files are incomplete. Please ensure that all required items as per Section 19 are in each staff person's records.

Observation. It was observed that a large climbing structure in the outdoor play space does not have protective surfacing beneath and around it in order to reduce the risk of injury from falls.

Observation. It was observed that a diaper change pad has a tear in it. Please ensure this diaper pad is replaced.

Observation. Staff records indicate that CRC's were not done as per the Criminal Records Review Act. Please ensure all staff have current CRC's completed with Justice, rather than the RCMP. Some staff files are missing several documents as per Section 19 of the Child Care Licensing Regulations. Please ensure all employees have complete files.

Observation. Two children were missing doctor's information and one of these was also missing their personal health care card number in their records. Please ensure that all information is available. Some children's emergency cards were missing information. Please ensure that all relevant information is readily available on every child's emergency card.

Observation. It was observed that two slides are resting on hard ground that could cause injury to a child. Please ensure that some kind of protective surfacing is provided at the end of each slide.

Observation. The Manager's ECE-A certificate is posted, however it is a requirement that the name of the manager needs to be posted in a prominent place.
