• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must have first aid kits that are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided off the community care facility premises.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the first aid kit and wipes to clean runny noses was not available to staff.

  Corrective action. Ensure that staff takes the first aid kits with wipes to clean runny noses off site always.

  In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (c) produce records, on demand, to the medical health officer.

  Observation. Licensing observed that a file with all the documents for the substitute staff at the facility was not available for licensing to review

  Corrective action. Ensure that the substitute either carries the file with them or is available for licensing at the facility.

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the Manager certification was not posted, nor was the Manager name.

  A licensee must keep (a) a copy of the written statement, referred to in section 19 of the Act, that the licensee delivers to persons who prepay part of the cost of services

  Observation. On review of three children's files, Licensing observed that two were missing prepayment agreement records.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all records are in place for those who prepay for services

  A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (a) suitable for the age and development of the children.

  Observation. Upon inspection, there was a set of wooden stairs set on its end that posed a fall hazard should the children climb them.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the outdoor play equipment accessible to the children is suited for the age and development of the children.

  Observation. Upon inspection there was: -a screwdriver accessible where the children walk to get to the backyard. -propane tanks/tools and stacked chairs were accessible to the children under the deck
