A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Licensing observed that there was not a system in place to sanitize the diaper change mat after each use.

Corrective action. Manager stated she will buy a spray bottle for sanitizing the diaper change area.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. The fire extinguisher has not been serviced annually.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Licensing observed that the daily attendance, including arrival, departure and absences has not been completed since Feb 24. This is a repeat contravention.

Corrective action. Manager states, a system will be created to ensure attendance is recorded daily will be implemented.

A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

Observation. During a walk through of the washroom accessible to children it was noted that no single use towels were present

Corrective action. Manager states that paper towels will be replenished and will remain replenished when children are in care

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. LIcensing noted that the daily attendance, including arrival, departure and absences has not been recorded since January

Corrective action. Manager states that attendance will be recorded daily

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

Observation. The following items present safety hazard to children in care: -lighter fluid bottle on ground outside on the south side of house -wood products with large nails sticking up outside on the south side of the house -unraveled garden hose located on north side of the house -paint tray full of standing water located on the north side of the house -buckets of paint located on the north side of the house

Corrective action. Please remove or secure these items in order to prevent children for having access to these hazardous items

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

Observation. Audit of 4 childrens files revealed all files missing individual photos/digital image

Corrective action. Please ensure all legislatively required documentation is obtained and maintained at all times
