A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

Observation. During a walk through of the outdoor play space, it was noted that a large number of rotting fruit was laying on the ground and accessible to the children in care

Corrective action. Manager will ensure all fruit is picked up and discarded daily

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

Observation. During a walk through of the indoor space, Licensing was unable to locate the name of the Facility Manager

Corrective action. The Licensee will ensure the Manager's name is posted in a visible location

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

Observation. During a walk through of the indoors it was noted that the staff credentials are not posted within the facility. All that is present is the Licensee representative, however all staff certification must be posted

Corrective action. Manager will ensure credentials are posted in a visible location

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Audit of 5 children's files revealed one registration file forms when printed are illegiable, and need to be updated so that the information is readable and current

Corrective action. Manager will reprint registration forms so that the pertinant information is readable

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Audit of 5 children's files revealed one file is missing medical practitioner name and telephone number. LO noted that multiple reminders have been made, however the information has not been provided.

Corrective action. Manager will obtain the name of a medical practitioner or medical clinic and contact phone number for all registered children
