EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. The hot water was operational for 60 seconds and the temperature was recorded at 52.1 degrees Celcius taken with a digital thermometer
Corrective action. Manager said that children are continualy supervised when handwashing but will ensure it is addressed.

STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. A staff on site today did not have a criminal record check clearance with the Licensee.
Corrective action. There was notification of clearance having been obtained by the school and manager thinks that the Licensee has started the application process for this staff. This staff does not work alone with children currently.
