• MEDICATION

  If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (b) readily accessible to employees.

  Observation. Medication was not readily accessible to employees for a child identified as requiring rescue medication

  Corrective action. Please ensure medication is available at all time while the child is in attendance

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (h) any special instruction respecting the child's diet, medication, participation in a program of activities, or other matter relevant to the child's care, (i) given by the child's parent to the licensee in writing.

  Observation. A child new in attendance did not have instruction for staff pertaining to medication requirements and consent to administer. Further discussed and staff siad they will obtain the records at pick up today

  Corrective action. Please ensure all documentation is complete prior to providing care

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.

  Observation. A new child transitioning did not have signed emergency consent. There were contact details available should an emergency occur.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all documentation is complete prior to providing care.
