  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Detergent solution was located in an unlocked bathroom cabinet in 3-5 classroom.

    Corrective action. The staff removed the detergent and placed in an inaccesible location upon inspection.

  • MEDICATION

    If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (b) readily accessible to employees.

    Observation. Epi-pen for one child was found to be expired

    Corrective action. The staff will connect with the parents to obtain a non-expired epi-pen

    Observation. Licensing reviewed four care plans of which two had expired medication.

    Corrective action. Licensee Contact to review medication needs with parent and obtain new medication.

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): On review of six children's files, Licensing observed one to be missing the sex of the child.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children's files are complete at the time of registration. Manager corrected during inspection

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): On review of a new staff files, Licensing observed the file to be missing immunization status.

    Corrective action. Staff was able to complete an immunization status on site to be added to the file.
