Observation. The licensee confirmed they exceeded the maximum capacity of children in care when 9 children were in the program on a day in March.

Observation. Licensing observed hand washing for children after bathroom use, and hand washing for staff after wiping the nose of a child had not occurred.

A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.
Observation. Of 10 children records reviewed, 2 did not contain record of parent consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.
Corrective action. Licensee corrected one file during the inspection, and will obtain the consent of another parent today.

A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Both sink's temperature were measured at 49. 7 and 50.5 degrees Celsius.
Corrective action. Licensee will provide corrective response on or before march 4, 2024

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. One file was on site, within the employee file there was not evidence the employee's early childhood educator certification was verified by the system maintained by the early childhood registry.
Corrective action. Licensee said they will get this completed today. Licensing will provide a link for the licensee.
