• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Access box cover located in the playground was cracked giving access to children.

  Corrective action. The manager covered this and placed a work order for repair during the inspection.

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. Fire drill and Emergency evacuation drills had been completed in the past years, 2 fire drills had not been documented, and the evacuation drill had not been documented in the past year.

  Corrective action. The manager corrected this during the inspection.

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. Licensing reviewed records of the fire drills and evacuation drills, and found some missing documentation of completed drills. The manager stated some were done but had not been recorded.

  Corrective action. The manager said they will consider a system to ensure documentation of fire and evacuation drills are recorded after completed.

  Observation. Licensing observed: -A change table mat with three holes in the vinyl preventing effective sanitization. -The rug in the main play area showed three areas where it was visibly soiled.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed seven children's files, one file did not contain Immunization status.

  Corrective action. Please ensure to keep record of immunization status.
