• NUTRITION AND FOOD SERVICES

  A licensee must (b) promote healthy eating and nutritional habits.

  Observation. Licensing observed a child eating food while walking, who had not previously washed hands, and another child eating an apple while walking, trip and fall with the apple in their mouth. -Staff poured cereal in a bowl for a child who was holding the bowl, both were standing in the play area. Neither staff nor child had washed hands.

  Corrective action. The manager will develop a system for promoting healthy eating and nutritional habits.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection, licensing observed the cabinet that contains various cleaning supplies was unlatched, and accessible to children in care.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of children.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.

  Observation. Log of a recent unexpected event had not been entered into the minor log book. Staff provided a copy of an email communication with parent of one child that was involved in the minor incident.

  Corrective action. Please ensure to keep current record of a minor accidents, illnesses, and unexpected events involving children that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed three employee files. One file did not contain evidence that the character references had been obtained.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Licensing observed damage to the walls thorough out the classroom. The area near the classroom window had holes with drywall exposure.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that the community care facility is in good repair.
