- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. The nap room stored 2 items with cables that were unsecured next to where children were sleeping.
Corrective action. Licensee said that they remove one cable during naptime, and are in the process of addressing the other cable.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. -The cloths in the bathroom stored clean towels, and soiled towels were also stored in the same basket. -One child had mouthed a toy and then other children were observed playing with and mouthing the same toy. -One child had put their hand in their pants, and afterward was touching toys, the licensee had not encouraged the child to wash hands before playing with the toys.
Corrective action. Licensee will create a system to instruct children in health and hygiene, and provide licensing with a written response.
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.
Observation. Minor incident log book had no entries for the past year other than one entry on May 2, 2025.
Corrective action. The licensee will consider a plan to ensure documentation is completed when needed in the minor incident log book, and will provide a response to licensing
19050 - CCLR s.56(1)(f) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Licensing reviewed 6 files, of those Immunization records for one child was not documented, and one child's medical service plan number was not documented.
Corrective action. Licensee will connect with the parents and obtain the information
19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (c) the resources to be made available to the child requiring extra support by the licensee, including (ii) any modification to the program of activities necessary to enable the child to participate in or benefit from the program.
Observation. No care plan for a child requiring the care plan, was on record.
Corrective action. Licensee will work with the family to develop a care plan.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The outdoor area contained: -a pair shrub trimmers accessible to children in the outdoor area. (Corrected during the inspection). -food wrapper. -A board accessible to children sitting on top of the compost, with a screw sticking out, and screws partially screwed into a plantar accessible to children while playing. -Outdoor turf which was wrinkled posing a tripping hazard.
Corrective action. Licensee will consider a plan to address the above items and provide written response by May 24th, 2024.
