    A licensee must have first aid kits that are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided off the community care facility premises.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the first aid kit or emergency bag is not taken by while care is being provided in the school gym.

    Corrective action. Ensure that first aid kit or the location of the kit and all the emergency information is known to staff while providing care for children in the school gym or outdoor play space.

  • POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

    A licensee must ensure that the policies and procedures referred to in subsection (1) are implemented by employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed that staff were not aware of any notification given by the parent i.e Care plans, illness, allergies or medication administration.

    Corrective action. Ensure that staff (substitute or floating staff) is familiar with all the necessary policies and procedures so that they can be implemented as needed.

    Observation. Licensing observed that two staff working in after school program, did not have staff files including all the required documents listed in section 19(1) available at the site or carrying with them.

    Corrective action. Ensure that current records are available for each of the staff whether substitute or floating staff.
