• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. String of lights and extension cord was secured with push pins, and the extension plug was accessible to children on the table. This was corrected at the inspection. -Two areas of the wall had damage with exposed drywall. Staff will cover with posters until a permanent fix can be completed.

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.

  Observation. A log book was available however had not been in use since June.

  A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the emergency evacuation bin has been recently reviewed. This was documented with a checklist, however there was no documentation of the evacuation plan having been practiced at least once per year.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that each employee practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 3 sharp knives were observed in a drawer accessible to children.

  Corrective action. Manager explained that sharp knives are generally kept in a bin on the top shelf of a cupboard. Licensing observed the bin. The manager immediately moved the knives into the designated bin.
