  Observation. Licensing observed that a blue slide on a Little Tykes Climber had cracked exposing sharp plastic on the area where children sit to go down the slide. This equipment was removed at time of inspection.

  Corrective action. Ensure equipment is free from hazards and in good repair.

  Observation. Licensing observed that a criminal record and character references for a music teacher were not kept in at the community care facility. Early Childhood Educator stated the records are kept at head office.

  Corrective action. Ensure records are kept in a single place at the community care facility.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the monthly playground inspections had not been recorded in the Group child Care (30 Months to School Age) program since November 15, 2022. ECE stated they had been practiced but not recorded.

  Corrective action. Ensure playground inspections are recorded.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the fire drill was last practised in February 2021.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the yard checks were last recorded on June 30, 2021 for the Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) program. Staff stated that the yard checks were being completed daily but not recorded.

  Corrective action. Ensure a log is kept of all inspections, maintenance and repairs. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.

• Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. Licensing observed an Early Childhood Educator and a Responsible Adult with 11 children in care in the Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) program.
