  • A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as School Age Care on School Grounds, must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

    Observation. Licensing tested one sinks where children access hot water and the temperature was 52.2° Celsius. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care and must be corrected immediately. The Licensee stated children would be supervised during hand washing until the temperature can be brought back into compliance. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan has been implemented and completed.

    Observation. One staff file audited. One staff person had expired Criminal Record Check.

    Corrective action. Ensure all staff has valid CRCs on file.
