  Observation. Licensing observed a staff member holding a child in one arm while guiding other children to wash their hands and handing out paper towels to children in the washroom. This practice poses a safety risk.

  A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

  Observation. Licensing observed the following items during today's visit: *Baby Nest and Toddler Reef room: - the caulking around the toilet bowl base is moldy, which poses hygienic concerns as it can harbor bacteria. *Baby Burrow and Toddler Den room: - Several rugs and mats have visible stains and dirt. *Baby Burrow and Toddler Den room: - Toilet paper was not made available within the children's reach.

  There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that the emergency food and water supplies were expired in March 2025 (water) and April 2025 (food).

  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that the care plans were incomplete, with the location of the medication not indicated.

  Observation. Licensing noted some doors leading to children rooms were in need of new paint.

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  Observation. Licensing noted that the fire drill system was not practiced in November 2023. The emergency plan was practiced on October 19,2023.

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE CONTROL / Physical Requirements of FacilityNon-critical

  The diaper change area is not adjacent to a hand wash basin. [CCLR Sec. 14(4)(b)]

  Observation. The diapering areas all have sinks adjacent, so that staff can wash their hands appropriately after diapering Licensing observed that some of the classrooms were using the sinks for storing sunscreen and other items This does not allow staff to was their hands at the sink intended for this purpose

  Observation. Licensing observed a garbage can intended for diapers that did not have a lid that attaches to the garbage can

  Children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult. [CCLR Sec. 39(1)]

  Observation. Licensing officer noted 2 children sleeping in playpens were not directly supervised. Stuffy toys were left in the playpens after children had fallen a sleep.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing officer noted 2 piece furniture available to children was showing wear and tear making the surface difficult to clean and disinfect.
