    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Bottom of the climbing structure showing signs of rotting wood. This item has been noted outstanding from the 2024 routine inspection. - Wooden stumps around the garden bed, sand box, and covered structure showing signs of rotting wood. This item has been noted outstanding from the 2024 routine inspection. - Wooden bridge has a panel that is loose, and wood rotting. This poses an entrapment and tripping hazard. This item has been noted outstanding from the 2023 routine inspection. Manager informs that the work orders are sent in, and has still not heard any responses to when repairs will take place.

    Observation. Licensing observed one child to be missing medical practitioner's information, and medical insurance information.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - bottom of the climbing structure showing signs of rotting wood - wooden shingle on the side of the building is broken and loose. - wooden stumps around garden bed, sand box, and covered structure showing signs of rotting wood - Wooden bridge has a panel that is loose, which can be a potential tripping hazard Staff inform that work orders have already been submitted, but has not heard any response to when the repairs will take place.

    Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

    Observation. *An epi-pen required for child with a life threatening allergy was not stored in the I/T room where the child is registered but was located in the 3-5 room. The epi-pen also did not have a prescription label identifying who it belonged to.

    Observation. *Upon arrival CCFL observed unsecured teacher's belongings both on the floor in front of and inside an unlocked wooden cabinet. Teacher's belongings may contain items hazardous to children such as medications. *String lights underneath the stairs were not securely attached creating possible risk of entanglement. *A metal magnet board attached to the wall behind the door is developing sharp rusty corners. *An unlabelled spray bottle containing unknown liquid for cleaning was left on the counter edge within children's reach.

    All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

    Observation. *A tire swing is hung in such a way that it bangs quite heavily into the side of the tree. This creates possibility of injury should a child's limb get caught/crushed between the tire and tree trunk. *There is a rotten plank on the small curved wooden bridge creating risk of foot entrapment. *A clear easel has become loose from the bottom of the frame making it unstable.
