  • RECORDS AND REPORTING / Records For Each ChildNon-critical

A record for each child containing the daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(c)]; A record for each child containing any notification of a parent, emergency contact or medical health officer made under CCLR section 55 [notification of illness or injury] is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(g)]

Observation. . While there are emergency cards and children's files available, some information is missing - two children have the parent as the emergency contact. As discussed, the emergency contact is in addition to the parent. It was also observed that there is attendance kept with time in and out, but absence is not clear as the sign in only shows those signed in. Which does not meet the intent of Absent and Present being show on the daily attendance. Remember, after a child leaves your care, you must include their last day of care in their file.

  • STAFFING / Character and skill requirementsNon-critical

Prior to employing staff the manager has met with each person and has obtained the appropriate documentation. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)]

Observation. The Licensee is the only staff on site, with support of spouse (when available and if needed). The current staff file includes CRC and First Aid for both Licensee and spouse. The following documents must also be available: - Resume - References - Immunization status (note - a list of immunizations is not required, just your status and can be a written documentation that you write and keep in the file). - Certificate(s) of training
