    A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: *unsecured electrical cords placed in the small room/ snack room. This could pose as a safety hazard. *a triangle climber/ladder with a round mat placed in front of the climber while children were encouraged to jump off the play structure. Licensing recommends placing an additional mat on the opposite side of the climber where children climb to help prevent any risks of injury.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. Licensing observed the following in the outdoor space: *tangled water hose in the playground - this could pose as a tripping hazard. *a blue cow ride on toy with its ear appeared to be torn, exposing the inner material/foam- This item is no longer in good repair and is not easy to clean.

    Ground Surfacing: The playground surface is free of standing water and debris. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

    Observation. Licensing observed standing water inside the tires and a water table tub in the playground. This observation was shared with the educator and a discussion took place about removing standing water prior to children accessing these play materials.

    A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: *educators follow 2 step cleaning/disinfecting method. *liquid hand soap and single use hand towels available at sinks. *electrical cord securely anchored - inaccessible by children. *several play materials (i.e. paper rolls, a teepee tent, etc) being stored in the small room. Discussion took place regarding finding an appropriate space to store the play materials in order to prevent cluttering the children's play space. *a wooden triangle climber in the main play space: discussion took place regarding providing vigilant supervision (i.e. close proximity, etc) should a child stand at the highest point of this play equipment. Outdoor: *several wooden logs and boards appeared slippery. This could pose as a safety hazard should a child slip while standing on it. *several headless nails being exposed on the ground by the mud kitchen- a rubber mat is being placed on top to prevent children from accessing. *The wooden boards located adjacent to the sandbox appeared to be broken and sunken in when standing on them. A large door mat is being placed on top to prevent any risks of falling or entrapment. Permanent repair is required as these wooden boards could pose as a tripping hazard

    Observation. Licensing observe incomplete care plans: *one with no digital photo of a child. *one with the incorrect expiry date for a medication.

    Children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult. [CCLR Sec. 39(1)]

    Observation. When Licensing arrived to conduct the inspection a child came out of the washroom and went outside unsupervised. There were no Educators inside the main room and no direct sightline from the outdoors to the washroom. Licensing also observed that the Educator outside at times had their back to the inside room.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. Licensing observed that one of the taps in the washroom was broken. The Manager stated they are have contacted the company and are waiting for a replacement.

    Observation. Licensing observed an electrical cord located near the teacher's shoe storage that was accessible to the children.
