  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed a white single-seated couch located in the small activity room requires a thorough wash and deep cleaning

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES / Emergency Training and EquipmentNon-critical

  There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

  Observation. Emergency preparedness supplies are sufficient to meet the needs of the children and Licensee for a minimum of 72 hours. However, one child's emergency supplies appears to be expired.

• STAFFING / Emergency Training and EquipmentNon-critical

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that fire drills have been practiced on a monthly basis. However the annual emergency drill have not been practice and recorded. The last emergency drill was 2023.

  Criminal record checks have not been obtained. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)(a)]

  Observation. One staff did not have a criminal record clearance letter on file.

  Staff ratios and group sizes comply with Schedule E. [CCLR Sec. 34(2)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed one child in care over 30 months old. The child does not turn 36 month old before December 31, 2022. The child is not be eligible to be currently enrolled. (c)Preschool (30 Months to School Age), being a program that provides care to preschool children who are at least (i)30 months old on entrance to the program, and (ii)36 months old by December 31 of the year of entrance; A discussion was held with the program manager who stated the child enrolled in September. The possibility of applying for an exemption was discussed.
