  • PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

Observation. Licensing observed the following: - A string of indoor festive light decoration strung along the edge of the kitchen counter, posing a potential entanglement hazard. - Two high shelves for materials not secured, posing a potential tipping hazard. - Bleach and water solution is available for sanitizing in activity area and kitchen area, however, no soap and water cleaning is being used prior to sanitizing. - Children's food items are stored in their cubby with lunch bags. Several bags did not include ice packs to keep items at required temperature.

  • PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Furniture, Equipment and FixturesNon-critical

Furniture or equipment for sleeping is used by only one child at a time, is clean and comfortable, and is appropriate for the size, age and development of the children intended to use it. [CCLR Sec. 15(2)]

Observation. Families provide their own blankets and comfort items for nap, which are stored separately in their own bags. Mats used for sleeping are stored behind a door, stacked vertically, in a way that is allowing the bed covers to be touching. This can facilitate cross contamination for hygiene.

  • PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Play Area, Materials and EquipmentNon-critical

The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

Observation. Licensing observed the fencing in the backyard to be broken and showing extensive rot in the wood due to age. Licensee has provided temporary reinforcements in several areas along the fence. Currently, the Licensee informs that they go to the park daily, so the playing in the backyard is minimal.

  • POLICIES AND PROCEDURES / Emergency Training and EquipmentNon-critical

There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

Observation. Fire extinguisher is newly purchased in September 2023. Service will be due in September of 2024. Licensee informs that there are currently no emergency preparedness supplies available. A resource will be sent to Licensee as requested.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING / Safe Play Space Standard of PracticeNon-critical

Maintenance of Equipment: A log is kept of all inspections, maintenance and repairs. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

Observation. Licensing did not observe a log of inspection and maintenance available. An outdoor inspection resource to be sent to Licensee as requested.

I highly recommend Blooming Minds to any parent seeking quality childcare. My kid was fortunate to attend Blooming Minds Daycare. Nayer is an exceptional educator and caregiver who consistently creates a supportive and engaging environment filled with learning opportunities. Her dedication to every child's development ensures that each day is both fun and educational. The children are frequently taken on trips to the forest, providing valuable outdoor experiences.

𝓝𝓪𝔂𝓮𝓻 is amazing. She is sweet, caring and patient. My son developed a strong bond with her throughout their time spent together. You can tell she genuinely cares about children’s growth and well being. I highly recommend 𝓝𝓪𝔂𝓮𝓻.

Nayer provided care for our daughter at a previous daycare for over a year. We were extremely grateful for the time we had with her and the care, compassion and attention she provided our child. Our daughter instantly attached to Nayer, who provided a safe, warm and supportive environment for her, and helped her (and us) through the transition into daycare. She's an exceptionally skilled Early Childhood Educator, and we as parents have learned a lot from her. Her passion for her work in nurturing the growth and development of young children shines through. We appreciated her calm, loving and connecting approach, as well as the consistent and clear communication with us about our daughter's needs. We have missed her greatly, but are so delighted for her on this new endeavour!

I am so happy that my son was fortunate to spend his pre-school year at Blooming Minds! Nayer has a strong theoretical background in kids behavior. My son had challenges finding himself in a group and in Blooming Minds everything worked like a charm! He became much more self-aware, calm, and conscious. I often hear him say things like, 'Nayer told me that yogurt is good for your health,' 'Nayer said that washing hands kill germs,' and 'Can we go to the forest like we did with Nayer?'. Thank you so much for all the extra effort you put into supporting our kids' growth and happiness!
