- POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. The fire extinguisher has not been serviced since it was purchased back in late 2024. Licensee stated that they were not aware that the fire extinguisher needed to be serviced yearly.
Corrective action. Licensee stated that they would purchase another fire extinguisher.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.
Observation. Licensee has a minor incident log book but has not documented anything since the start of operation.
Corrective action. Licensee stated that they would start documenting minor incidents.
19050 - CCLR s.56(1)(f) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. One child is missing an MSP number
Corrective action. Licensee stated that they would ask the parent for this information.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee providing a care program to any child younger than 36 months of age must provide a separate sleeping area located away from any activity area.
Observation. Designated nap room is temporarily not available for napping. Discussion had with the Licensee about the facility having a designated separate sleeping area available at all times.
Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address this contravention noted above on or before June 2, 2025
11130 - CCLR s.15(3) - HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. At the time of inspection, children did not go to wash hands before eating lunch. Licensee stated that the children washed their hands before circle time which had been right before lunch. Discussion had with Licensee about washing hands just prior to lunch time as children's hands may become dirty during circle time.

15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - OR SUPERVISION
Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. At the time of inspection, there were 7 children in care, 5 children within the home were under the age of 3 years. Currently, Licensee has 5 children under the age of 3 years of age enrolled within the program. Discussion had with Licensee in regard to ensuring that there is no more than 3 children under the age of 3 years within the program, unless approved by Licensing.
Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address this contravention noted above on or before June 2, 2025
14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - OR SUPERVISION
A licensee must (a) ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance.
Observation. At the time of inspection, multiple children were sitting in their high chairs restrained while the Licensee was conducting circle time. Discussion had about restraint and allowing the children freedom to be able to sit or walk around.
Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address this contravention noted above on or before June 2, 2025
14220 - CCLR s.51(1)(a) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).
Observation. A child who was on site within the home did not have a file. Discussion had with Licensee about all children who are within the home would be considered in care and would need to have a file on site.

19060 - CCLR s.57(1)(a)(b)(c) - STAFFING
The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation. A criminal record check for a person over the age of 12 who is visiting for multiple weeks is not available.
