- STAFFING
A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.
Observation. The Licensee's first aid certificate has expired.
Corrective action. The Licensee stated that she will register in a first aid course immediately.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed a pack and play with ripped netting which is creating an entrapment hazard. A clarifying conversation with the Licensee indicated that the pack and play is not in use at the moment.
Corrective action. Ensure that the facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Licensing observed that the facility's fire extinguisher was past due for annual service.
Corrective action. Ensure fire extinguishers are serviced on or before the due date indicated on maintenance tags.
