  Observation. The food and water in their emergency supplies have expired.

  Corrective action. The licensee said they will be checking all the supplies and replenishing them this month.

  Observation. Upon review of several children's records, one is missing an emergency contact.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. The fence in the outdoor play space is in disrepair. There are numerous boards missing and others that are rotten, loose and failing out. The wood gate is also in disrepair with boards falling out and nails exposed and accessible to the children in care.

  Corrective action. Ensure the facility is in good repair at all times.

  Observation. Although the staff member on site states that fire drills have been conducted monthly and emergency drills are conducted yearly, a fire drill has not been documented since June 2023 and an emergency drill has not been recorded in the past year.

  Corrective action. Ensure to conduct and document fire and emergency drills.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed two staff files. A minimum of two character references were not obtained for one employee.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete.

  Observation. Licensing observed that fence panels are broken. The wood pieces are missing on one side and there are holes on parts.

  Corrective action. Ensure that a valid fire extinguisher is in place as a part of your emergency plan to mitigate, recover and respond any emergency.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

  Observation. Review of 2 staff files observed one staff has ECE certificate that was renewed recently. However, it was not verified from the registry.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete.

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the TV noted in the previous inspection report has not been secured to prevent tipping hazard. A clarifying conversation with the Licensee indicted that the items required to secure the TV have been obtained and TV will be secured in the next few days.

  Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

  A licensee must ensure that children are not (c) left unsupervised while consuming food or drink.

  Observation. Licensing observed that children were left unattended when consuming food while the educator was supporting some children in another area of the facility.

  Corrective action. Ensure children are not left unsupervised while consuming food or drink.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the fire drill log had been pre filled until December. This does not meet the intent of keeping a log.

  Corrective action. Ensure an accurate log respecting compliance monthly fire drills is maintained.

  Corrective action. Ensure that children attending a community care facility are divided into groups with each group having no more children that permitted in Schedule E. Should an exemption or temporary placement be required, ensure approval is obtained prior to enrollment.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Licensing observed that arrival/departure times are not recorded as part of facility attendance.

  Corrective action. Ensure that a record is kept for each child indicating whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Licensing observed that fire drills had not been practiced for 2 months in 2021.
