    Observation. Licensee amended their Licence and removed the Preschool program to offer full day GCC 30 months to school age care program. Licensing observed on children files that parents are being offered Full day, part time or extended Montessori preschool program. On the attendance sheet, children are signed in for Preschool program. There are two separate attendance sheets for 9 - 11.30 am and 12.00- 3.00 pm. Licensee was previously discussed to advertise and operate the program as reflected on the copy of CCF Licence.

    Corrective action. Please ensure to offer and advertise program type that is approved on the Licence. .

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. In the outdoor play space the following was observed: -There are toys and equipment broken and in disrepair -The building, staircases and railings all have paint chipping and the staircase steps have algae on them which makes them slippery, especially when wet. -The depth of protective surfacing under the large play equipment is inadequate. The Licensee has indicated in writing that surfacing options are currently being explored. Licensing has directed the facility not to use this piece of equipment until the surfacing has been addressed.

    Corrective action. Ensure the facility is in good repair.

    A licensee may use the same outdoor play area at the same time for more than one care program if the care programs are of the same type as prescribed in Column 1 of section 1 of Schedule E.

    Observation. During today's inspection both the group child care (30 months to school age) group and the multi-age group used the large playground at the same time. When Licensing spoke to the Manager by phone at the time of inspection the Manager identified that they have been sharing the large playground as the small playground needs some work/upgrades due to recent weather conditions.

    Corrective action. Ensure that multiple service types do not share the same outdoor play area at the same time.
