    Observation. The fire extinguisher was not serviced annually.

    Corrective action. The manager will ensure to have the fire extinguisher serviced.

  • LICENSING

    During an investigation or inspection, a person must not do either of the following: (b) withhold, conceal or destroy any records or information relevant to the investigation or inspection or required by the medical health officer. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): As the Licensing Officer was inspecting the physical premise with the Manager the LO found a child sitting on a chair in a storage room, the five year old child was by themselves. When the Licensing officer asked the Manager who's child was this, the Manager responded that the child belongs to a staff person on site. The Manager was aware that the five year old child was on site, but did not know the child was in the storage room. The child was placed there by the staff (child's parent), when the LO arrived at the facility.

    Corrective action. Ensure all children on site are accounted for at all times and that staff do not withhold or conceal information relevant to the inspection.

    Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.

    Observation. There was a child on site that did not meet the age requirement according to Schedule E.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that the requirements set out in Schedule E is followed.

    Observation. During inspection there was a child present that did not have a registration record.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children attending a community care facility have accurate registration records on site.

    Observation. Review of 3 staff files observed 1 did not have a Criminal Record Check from the Criminal Record Check Review Board, however there was an RCMP Police Check.

    Corrective action. Please ensure criminal record checks are obtained from the Criminal Record Review Board.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that certificates are verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.
